Woodford is a small town in the middle level of the Blue Mountains. It is located approximately 90 kilometres west of Sydney and has an elevation of 609 metres above sea level, giving it a mild and temperate climate. Woodford is located within the Blue Mountains National Park. Together with Linden it has approximately 800 home sites. Woodford has many historical attractions including the Woodford Academy (pictured here) which was previously a day school and a boarding school, it is the oldest intact building in the Blue Mountains and is now a National Trust property and may now be visited by the general public one Saturday every month. You can also book for Hi Tea at the property (with the National Trust) which Marlene Thompson has personally enjoyed and recommends. Also there is the Woodford Railway Station, a lovely older brick building which was erected in 1902 and has beautiful flowering gardens, worth a look at on your way up the Mountains. Woodford Post Office building is also worth a look at on the northern side of the highway.
