Surrounding Suburbs

Hazelbrook is a small town between Woodford and Lawson and has a well developed shopping village to service the community. It has approx. 2230 homes and is located 674m above sea level and 89km from Sydney. Like all the towns and villages in the Blue Mountains it developed after the arrival of the railway line in the 1860s and with the growing interest in the rural retreat holidays in the 1880s. At the eastern end of Hazelbrook there is a track which leads into Mabel Falls, Hazel Falls and Edith Falls. Further west is The Ampitheatre, accessible via Oaklands Rd, which contains Lyrebird Falls, Lena Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Oakland Falls, Glow Worm Nook Falls and Burgess Falls. On the southern side of the highway is the railway line and Railway Pde runs parallel to the track. Terrace Falls Rd runs south off Railway Pde to the start of a walking track which leads to Victor Falls, Terrace Falls and Bedford Pool. With the widening of the Great Western Highway it has become a very attractive and affordable area for young couples.
